50’th Wedding Anniversary

Obviously, I love weddings. I mean, I wouldn’t be in the wedding business if I didn’t! But something that is even more special to me than the glorious day that you say “I do” is all the years that come afterwards – of every single day continuing to say “I do”, whatever the circumstances. So I was very honoured when I was asked to photograph my grandparents 50’th wedding anniversary. 50 years of choosing to say “I do” every day they were together. It’s an amazing accomplishment, and a legacy I hope to carry on with my marriage.

We had a special, intimate dinner at the Hotel James McDonald on Friday evening, and then on Saturday we had a surprise open house for all my grandparents friends and family to be able to drop in and say congratulations.

It was also a unique experience needing to be both behind and in front of the camera!

It’s not a family get together until we all gather around the piano and sing some songs!

Grandma knew we were getting her a cake – she just didn’t know it would be this big!!

Again, never a proper get together until we’ve sung some hymns together!
