Where To TAke Family Photos

Where you choose to take photos is going to be quite personal, and rely on a number of different factors, like if you need somewhere wheelchair / stroller accessible, how young your

kids are, what style of photos you want, and the amount of time you have booked with your

photographer.

A great local photographer will always be able to give you suggestions for your area, but some options for you to consider are:

IN-HOME SESSIONS:

These work amazing with documentary style shoots where perfect lighting isn’t a requirement, you don’t want to forget to bring anything, and they are totally

weather proof!

STUDIO RENTALS:

There are often professional photo studios that will rent out their indoor spaces to photographers and families!

These are good for more formal portrait styles where you are wanting to control the lighting and backdrops.

VENUE RENTALS:

Just like you can rent out spaces for parties and events, you can rent out spaces for photos!

Depending on your area there’s often a great mix of indoor and outdoor venues that will let you book their space - check with greenhouses, wedding venues, botanical gardens and cute cafes with big windows!

OUTDOOR PUBLIC SPACES:

The cheapest and easiest option is to just hit the great outdoors. Parks, playgrounds, public gardens and local art installations are all fabulous choices.

Keep in mind that because they are public, you will have to work around other people in the

area and may have to wait your turn for popular spots
