What to wear for family Photos

Next to picking the photographer, picking what you and all your hooligans will wear is the biggest hurdle!

You’re going to go for coordinating, but not matching. (anyone remember family photos with everyone in blue jeans and white shirts, or is that just me?)

The best thing is to pick 3-4 fairly neutral main colors to work around. So let’s say you have a family of 4: Dad, Mom, Brother and Sister.

Family Photography Outfit Themes

We’re going with a rusty autumn theme, so our colors are going to be Black, Burnt Orange, Cream and Forest Green.

Dad wears Black jeans and a burnt orange button up. Mom wears a stunning Forest Green dress with black heels, Brother wears black pants and forest green shirt with cream polka dots and Sister is in a burnt orange dress with cream flower patterns.

Formal or Casual for family photos?

Now that you’ve picked your colors, the question is how fancy do you dress? Well, the answer is “as fancy as you want”.

Just make sure that everyone is equally fancy or fancy-less. You can still take incredible family photos in casual slacks and shirts as well as dresses and suits. Pick your family’s level

of comfort, and make sure to account for the weather and terrain.
