Should you use props for a family photoshoot?
To prop, or not to prop: this is the question, and the answer is... It’s entirely up to you!
Having or not having props totally depends on what you are trying to achieve with your photos.
Are you wanting cute family picnic photos with everyone giggling about dad dribbling jam on his tie? Then you should bring a picnic that includes jam!
If you’re wanting formal, posed photos standing in front of a picturesque background, then props most likely won’t be your thing. You’ll want to focus more on good posing and lighting.
Or, just maybe, you’re a unique combination of the two? A fancy, never before seen blend? The sky’s the limit!
Talk to your photographer about what kind of photos you are wanting to create and see if they have any recommendations.
